OPTIMIST CLUB AT THE ERLANGER THEATRE 1947

The Erlanger became the Tower, then Martin's Cinerama, then the Academy, then dust, all because of St. Luke's "homeless" program.  The Optimist Club of Atlanta operated a camp for boys in north Georgia now long gone, their motto was "friendship for the boy."

Must have been one of Herschel Harrington's first Atlanta jobs.

Bob's-Cola!  100% cocaine!

And served at Woodings!  "Courteous, well-trained male colored waiters."

The Optimists stopped crime on the Bankhead Highway.

The images are lousy because the Historical Society won't allow gentlemen to scan.
